Forcing draw in training matches.

I noticed that a player played a total of 17 training matches against the same opponent on the same day with each result being draw. Having looked at a couple of games, he had obviously worked his strategy so that he maintained 98% possession but never scored a try.

The question is: Why would he do that?

To get the training points

You get more training points per energy used by using the training ground. Training match uses 6 energy, whilst 30 minute training uses 3 energy and you get more training points.

But once you have trained (be it 30,120 or 240 mins) you cannot train again until the time is up, but you can play training matches, and if you lose/draw you can keep playing the matches...

Must cost a lot of heal kits then. Do you win any fans with a draw?

Do not know, have never drawn a training match!

Well I managed to force a 0-0 draw in a training match. Set strategy to attack with forwards only, no penetration, pass distance 10m, no kicking, penalty distance 20m (min) and a few other things.

Result is no fans or money, but you use less energy and get training points. As to whether it's worth it versus using training ground is debatable.
