Star rating v skills

I'm not sure how the star ratings effect the player. Is it better to use a player with a high star rating but low skill rating (in the important areas) or go with a low star rating but high skill rating?

Star rating is the average of all the players skills but because your RB doesn't need to tackle or kick a ball for example this is a distorted picture. So it would be better to play a 20* RB that has penetration and juke skills maxed than what it would be to play a 30* RB that is not well developed in key areas.

Star rating gives no bonus

And THAT is why I keep and start my (now) ~25 star RB from my noob team even though I have 40 star guys lol

Stars don't tell the story. Make sure your player is trained in the right skills.
